The September Luncheon will feature a greeting and update from the NC State Bar and a presentation of the NC State Bar&#39;s John B. McMillan Distinguished Service Award, which honors current and retired members of the North Carolina State Bar throughout the state who have demonstrated exemplary service to the legal profession. Our Bar Councilor and District Court Judge Dorothy Hairston Mitchell will participate in the presentation of the award and the honored recipient is Henry McKinley &quot;Mickey&quot; Michaux Jr. The meeting will also include greetings and updates from the NC State Bar. <br /><br />As we foresee a more typical Bar schedule this year it may be useful to note that paid DCBA members attend this event at no additional charge as it is a function of the voluntary bar that is covered by the $125 annual membership fee, which also covers the two-day CLE. Those who intend to join the DCBA this year are welcome, and will be billed accordingly. <br /><br />Those attending to observe Mr. Michaux&#39;s award may certainly pay the $30 guest fee for lunch at 12:30, or arrive at 1:00 for the presentation at no charge. The meeting will also be livestreamed at the link in this event posting.
