Durham Orange Women Attorneys (DOWA)

DOWA has been a chapter of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys since 1998, originally as two separate chapters which later merged into one. Although most DOWA members are either small firm or solo practitioners, DOWA has typically had the most law student members of any chapter since its service area includes the law schools of Duke University, North Carolina Central University, and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

In addition to special events, DOWA meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month at 1pm. The usual meeting location is Sitar Indian Restaurant in Durham, which has a buffet available. Notice of events is always provided through the DOWA yahoo groups listserv and often in The Durham Docket email newsletter sent out by the Durham County Bar Association.
