The Bar and its organizations are nonprofit trade groups which support the legal community. There are no services provided directly to the non-attorney public.
Referrals
Those seeking attorney referrals are best served via the NC Bar Association’s
Lawyer Referral Service. To reach the Lawyer Referral Service by phone, please call 1-800-662-7660 or 919-677-8574. Attorneys who place themselves on the referral list agree in advance to charge you a reduced rate of $50 for an initial 30-minute consultation.
Attorney Questions
If you have a mandatory or voluntary Bar membership, dues, payment, or event attendance question, please contact the Executive Director, Bonnie Biggs. She can be reached at info@durhambar.org, or via phone/text at (919) 682-2012. The Bar’s business day runs 8:30 to 3:30 Monday through Friday. Email for an appointment, meeting or pickup; we are happy to meet you and collect your payment(s).
Media Statements
The Executive Director provides nonprofit management expertise and services, but is not tasked to respond to media inquiries. If a member of the news media would like to request a statement from the Bar on a matter of public interest, the President is the designated spokesperson for the Sixteenth Judicial District Bar and Durham County Bar Association.
