NC Free Legal Answers Program Overview:
Free Legal Answers is an ABA-developed program that allows financially eligible users to post civil legal questions through an online portal and receive answers from volunteer attorneys free of charge, helping to expand access to justice for low-income North Carolinians. The North Carolina Bar Foundation administers the program in North Carolina. Empower Hour Details:
During the NC Free Legal Answers Empower Hour, attorneys will log in throughnc.freelegalanswers.org, review a queue of questions by filtering among 27 available civil legal categories, and anonymously respond to a question that fits their legal interests. Because each attorney is working on his or her own questions, the Empower Hour pro bono clinic allows attorneys to have very individualized experiences while working alongside their colleagues to provide pro bono legal services to North Carolinians. Volunteer malpractice insurance coverage is provided to volunteer participants.

Please register as an NC Free Legal Answers volunteer prior to the event – registration takes less than 5 minutes:
1. Go to nc.freelegalanswers.org.
2. Click on “Volunteer Attorney Registration” at the top of the site.
3. Read and agree to Attorney Agreement.
4. Fill out registration information – you will need your NC State Bar Number.
5. Click on the activation link sent to your email (check spam folder if you don’t see it within a minute).
6. Await email confirming administrative approval of your account – you’re all set!
